Creative Give Back Update

In January 2014, we announced the first Creative Give Back, our commitment to give away one consulting project each year (https://creativeedc.com/creative-give-back.aspx). The winning proposal was submitted by the four towns of Indian Trail, Matthews, Mint Hill, and Stallings. They proposed to form an economic development alliance to capitalize on the assets shared by the four towns.

We launched the project in April with the goal of completing by November. Our scope of work included organizational development and action planning. Over the last six months, the Alliance of South Charlotte Communities has been incorporated, established a board, filed for nonprofit status, and drafted a three-year action plan. We are preparing the final action plan to be presented to town councils in November. This will conclude our Give Back contribution and mark the beginning of their work to implement the action plan – the real work is yet to come!

As the 2014 Creative Give Back wraps up, we look back on the time devoted to the project and feel it was time well spent. We enjoyed this new idea so much that we are already planning the announcement of the 2015 Creative Give Back. Look for information on our website January 1, 2015. What is your creative idea?
