Creative EDC and Economic Leadership supported the Piedmont Triad region’s Build Back Better Regional Challenge Grant Phase 1 and Phase 2 applications to the U.S. Economic Development Administration. PTRC was awarded a Phase 1 grant of $500,000 and invited to apply for a Phase 2 grant up to $75 million. The consulting team helped the region develop nine projects under the umbrella SITE Next Gen-Strengthening Innovation, Talent and Equity in Next Generation Manufacturing. Key projects include NC A&T University developing an aviation innovation center; a national hub for regenerative medicine; center of excellence in manufacturing simulation; and next generation furniture design and manufacturing. The announcement of award for Phase 2 will be in September 2022.
