Creative EDC teamed with Fayetteville State University to complete a Regional Impact Analysis for Potential Future Reduction of Personnel at Fort Bragg and Recommendations for Economic Diversification in Cumberland, Hoke, and Harnett Counties. The study quantified the economic impact of potential changes in troop levels at Fort Bragg
and developed recommendations to offset potential negative economic impacts and build on current assets and prospective positive impacts.
The consulting team found that a 3,000 troop reduction results in:
• loss of 3,630-5,000 full-time and part-time jobs
• $450M-$618M in sales
• $107M-$264M in wages
• $5M-$12M in tax revenue
Key strategies to offset potential negative impacts include regional collaboration across economic development, workforce development, and education to align with target industry sectors.
