Chester County used to be like most rural counties –declining population, few job opportunities, lacking business opportunities – but not anymore. Chester County is transforming into a suburban community of the greater Charlotte and Columbia regions. This transformational time made it ideal to update the Chester County Economic Development Strategic Plan. The strategic plan expanded CCED’s program of work to include increased marketing, small business development, tourism, and placemaking. The Chester County economic development strategy is built to capture and direct the transformational growth taking place to leverage the momentum of today and seize opportunities.
