Caswell County is working hard to reinvigorate its economy. Like many small, rural counties with persistent low income levels, it struggles to attract jobs that pay a better-than-average wage. Those new jobs are needed to increase tax base, which in turn will support improved government services, economic diversification to help weather recessions, and reduced out-commuting, improving the quality of life.. The Action Plan for Economic Development included marketing and communications, entrepreneurship, small business development, people recruitment, and encouraging more connectivity among citizens, leaders, and the community. Implementation is being led by a joint effort between Caswell County and Piedmont Community College.
