The Blacksburg Partnership vision is to be the catalyst making Blacksburg a vibrant place to live, work, learn, and play by convening businesses, Virginia Tech, and the Town of Blacksburg. The organization engaged Creative Economic Development Consulting to head their strategic planning process to ensure that the Partnership remains laser-focused on core mission – advocacy, marketing, and business development. Additionally, the strategic plan includes recommendations for organizational development ensure the Partnership is led and staffed by high caliber leaders.
Vision and mission statements are important for organizations, and the strategic planning process began with a review and update of the vision and mission statements of the Partnership. An implementation plan was recommended for the next three years with specific goals, action steps, best practices, and metrics for performance measurement. The strategic planning process was led by a steering committee with significant input from investors and stakeholders.
